Fashion Round-up of all the current and upcoming trends seen on NYFW Spring 2020

In line with the recently concluded New York Fashion Week Spring 2020, I’m sharing my favorite trends. New York Fashion Week is one of the most important events in the fashion world. In the city that never sleeps where fashion comes high on the top of the list of industries, the designers, models, fashionistas, makeup artists, celebrities create, shape and flaunt the fashion trends. There is a lot to be seen from street style to runways. NYFW is a great opportunity for all those following the fashion scene to see what is in, what is out, what is coming and to get inspired for their next styling options.

What I enjoy most about NYFW is the mixture of the current and upcoming fashion trends seen on both the streets and the runways. To create a nice round-up of what was happening at the NYFW, here is a summary of some of the biggest trends, on-and-off the streets and runways.

Tartan print

Tartan is iconic, timeless and still fits the modern runway collection. Bringing back one of the most popular prints was done by Carolina Herrera, with creative director, Wes Gordon who successfully incorporated the old prints with a new and fresh vibe. Tartan was among those leaving the biggest and strongest impression. It also previously took over Paris Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2019 runways in February when Dior’s creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri used various tartans in classic lacquer red, hunter green, black, and white.  Tartan never goes out of style, whether it may be spring or fall. Delivering some nostalgia, yet clean lines on famous print was enough inspiration for this choice to be seen on and off the runway, and what’s even better is that due to its popularity, it comes on strollers and prams too. All the stylish moms who rock motherhood in style should definitely take a look at the UPPAbaby VISTA in limited edition SPENSER with the tartan print.

All White

White has always been the color that never goes out of style. Crisp, clean and bright, white is an innocent shade that perfectly complements all skin tones. On NYFW, white was presented in looks that were entire monochromatic. Wearing entirely white clothes is trendy and fashionable. The combination with black accessories or footwear is not something new, and it creates the perfect contrast and balance in the look. White designs were greatly present and a top choice among the designers, especially Nicky Zimmerman who had several looks ready to upgrade the everyday looks into a fashion vacation.

SnakeSkin Print

The ‘70s inspired snakeskin print was one of the major and most dominant looks on this years’ Tommy & Zendaya NYFW runway. Lots of power suits, wrap-dresses, and scarf blouses come into the snakeskin print which was more than an announcement that this is another big trend that has made its comeback. Although it might not have been completely out of style, the first signs of the snakeskin comeback were seen last year. Since then, the snakeskin footwear became a popular street style choice and option for the influencers, and it remained the same this year on the streets of NY too. With the influence of Hilfiger on the fashion market, it is more than obvious that snakeskin will be huge.

Pastel hues

As Jonathan Simkhai explained, the inspiration behind his newest collection is that pastels are colors for all seasons, the runway and the street look instantly turned to a color game. In combination with the bright and neon colors, the pastel hues were also dominant in the new collection, giving just enough options for all those wanting to wear subtler shades.  In combination with some of the other ongoing trends like the oversized blazer, the final look is a top-notch trendy.

As every new season brings some specific color to its focus, currently it is orange one that is making a boom across the world. The warm, deep and bright shade was seen both on and off the runways. From summer attire to fall outerwear, orange is making an introduction as confident and strong color. Tom Ford used this shade to create fabulous designs. The unique and marvelous Oskar de la Renta sets the standards high again using this color on the gowns and dresses. The fashionistas seem to like this color too as many of them were seen in entirely monochromatic orange outfits.

Polka Dots

Looks like the retro-inspired pattern is here to stay as seen on Tory Burch, Kate Spade New York and Carolina Herrera collections, among others.

As the NYFW has come to an end and the focus will now be transferred in another fashion capital, the mixture of the street and runways style is more than enough inspiration for all the fashion lovers and followers to determine which trend suits them and get to show them on their street runways.
